Cory Riverside Energy is now recruiting for an Electrical Control and Instrumentation Apprentice.

Overview of Vacancy:  Through practical and vocational studies obtain work-related professional qualifications to be able to work as part of a team of responsible for operating and/or maintaining an energy from waste plant. To attend college and complete course work to a high standard.

The qualification is a Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Power Engineering – Power Plant Maintenance (Electrical) (2339 37).

The Electrical Control & Instrument (EC&I) Apprenticeship will be 4 years in duration, aimed at achieving EC&I Technician status and will be delivered in conjunction with a recognised and approved training body.

Through College and Site based learning support the team operate and maintain Plant, Equipment and Vehicles; To carry out Fault Finding Repair and Maintenance associated to electrical control and instrumentation systems and equipment at a modern Energy from Waste Plant; Ensuring that safe and effective Electrical Control and Instrumentation Maintenance and timely diagnosis execution and repair of plant and equipment is provided throughout the plant; To gain skills associated with the following responsibilities; Work within the Companies’ health, safety, environmental and quality framework; Under the direction of instructors and mentors learn about all theoretical and practical aspects of either electrical or mechanical maintenance activities; Workshop Practice; Electrical Theory or Mechanical Theory; Use of tools; Specialist equipment used to maintain plant.

Desired Skills: Maths / English and interest in Science and Engineering.

Desired Personal Qualities: Good time keeper and ability to work well with other people. A person who is willing to receive and implement instruction from tutors and mentors

Desired Qualifications: The successful candidate should have achieved Grades A-C in 5 GCSEs or Level 4 plus equivalence, which must include Mathematics, English and a Physics or Science Subject
