CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and support the core finance team.
  • Ownership of the company’s accounting, financial controls and financial processes.
  • Lead in the review and improvement of financial policy and procedures.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships with key business stakeholders including Heads of Departments and Directors.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to the finance team.

MAIN ACTIVITIES:

  • Leading on audit, the timely delivery of financial statements, statutory accounts, and relevant reporting.
  • Accountable for group accounting.
  • Supporting the Senior Finance Manager to deliver, review, and analyse the monthly management accounts and associated reporting.
  • Supporting the Senior Finance Manager on reconciliations and ownership of key balance sheet areas.
  • Revenue, cost and budgetary control – budget holder reporting & meetings.
  • Responsibility for cashflow, treasury, debt funding management and working capital management.
  • Lead on VAT, corporation tax returns and tax planning.
  • Responsible for ensuring the business appropriately adopts new accounting policies, legislation, and best practice.
  • Managing four direct reports; Senior Finance Manager, Business Partner, Financial Accountant, Revenue Protection Supervisor.
  • ERP system management and administration (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central 365).

KEY SKILLS:

Essential:

  • Qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • Experienced managing a finance team in an SME environment.
  • Ability to parse technical information and communicate this to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Flexibility & working well under pressure.
  • Previous experience working in a similar position.
  • Strong IT skills including excel and ERP systems.

Desirable:

  • Sound working knowledge of Microsoft D365
  • Experience implementing and monitoring finance policy and procedures.
