This is a key role within the Engineering and Vessel Appearance department that is based on permanent nightshift. The Nightshift Supervisor will support the engineering and vessel appearance operation based at Trinity Buoy Wharf with occasional travel to other facilities in our network as required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Line management for their shift which will consist of a number of engineers and vessel appearance team members.
  2. Ensuring the nightshift plan is delivered to the highest standards.
  3. Ensure all work completed by team and self is recorded iaw company procedures at all times.
  4. Ensure all Engineering work undertaken is compliant with necessary legislation and guidelines at all times.
  5. Ensure vessel appearance standards are delivered/exceeded at all times.
  6. Maintain good housekeeping practices, ensuring a safe and tidy working environment for the individual and the wider team.
  7. Continuously seek ways to improve personal, team and business performance.
  8. Ensure that all materials and resources are effectively and efficiently utilised to minimise waste and reduce costs.

MAIN ACTIVITIES

  • Maintain vessel readiness and performance in support of operational demands.to jjjjjj
  • Ensure that your teams and you comply with all Health and Safety regulations and safe working practice as required by current legislation and the Company’s Health and Safety Policy and practices.
  • Supervise and coordinate all engineers and vessel appearance team on shift to ensure the most effective and efficient operation is achieved to deliver the plan.
  • Oversee the night to night maintenance, servicing and cleaning of all vessels.
  • Ensure all work is recorded iaw company procedures.
  • Be the link between Fleet control and Engineering and Vessel Appearance teams over night.
  • Provide and promote the highest level of customer service.
  • Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable request as requested by the HOD and any member of the senior management team.

KEY SKILLS:

Essential

  • Relevant experience of working on medium sized diesel engines.
  • Relevant experience of working in high pressure environments whilst maintaining high levels of safety and maintenance practices.
  • Effective communicator and report writer.
  • Interpersonal, collaborative and influencing.
  • Can work to deadlines and able to respond to operational changes.
  • Computer literate.
  • Multi task with various departments whilst maintaining a calm and professional attitude.
  • Able to work on own initiative with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable

  • Marine engineering experience/knowledge
  • Familiarisation with the management of ISM compliance.
  • Familiarisation with the IMO High Speed Craft Code.
