Job Description
The Port of London Authority is currently looking to recruit an Operational and Project Coordinator to join the Navigation Systems Engineering Department.
You will be working in an area which is key to the success of the Authorities’ safety management process. The job is challenging and diverse. You will be required to provide close support to the team who work across many systems, including but not limited to: vessel tracking and display hardware/software, marine VHF radio, radar, microwave links, CCTV, local and wide area networks, hydrographic survey and meteorological equipment.
Among other duties, you will be responsible for organising training and equipment inspections as well as arranging site access for PLA staff and third-party contractors.
Ideally the candidate should hold A level or equivalent qualifications and possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience within a business team operation. You must be self-motivated and be able to work cohesively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You should have strengths in problem-solving combined with analytical, communication, time management and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently, instigating and maintaining reporting on progress and ensuring Health and safety processes and compliance are maintained. Knowledge of Regulatory and Legislative requirements relevant to the team’s work would be beneficial.
