Full Description

Uber Boat by Thames Clippers (UBTC) are looking for a Training and Development Officer to support our Fleet Training Manager in building our internal talent pipeline to support with business expansion and career progression.

You will be responsible for the delivery of the internal Boatmasters Licence (BML) training, inclusive of local knowledge training, passenger boat endorsement training and practical boat handling training.

Whilst identifying, delivering and project managing training courses to support the PLA’s CPD initiative and business growth, you will Create and develop training modules to enhance performance and support succession planning.

You will support in the tracking, managing, and delivery of the company’s strategic workforce plan, ensuring achievable deadlines are set and aligned with new business initiatives.

You will manage a team of Type-rating Instructors (TRI), ensuring scheduled training is being delivered effectively, the trainees feel supported throughout their training, and the TRI’s have the appropriate skills and tools to successfully carry out their role.

You’ll also Nurture, support and manage all Marine Apprentices, ensuring they have the tools to carry out their role effectively and appropriate training and coaching is delivered throughout their apprenticeship program.

You must be able to identify supplementary and developmental training needs for all staff within the Fleet Operations team and produce a plan to execute and track the training required.

We’re looking for someone to Develop blended approaches to training for employees working afloat, inclusive of supporting in the creation and development of e-learning modules.

You’ll be an experienced Marine professional, holding a Boat Masters Licence or equivalent / higher COC with a proven track record of teaching a marine syllabus

Experience of working under MCA regulations is essential along with the ability to think strategically and operate at a managerial level.

An excellent communicator you’ll have the ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage multiple deadlines and projects.

Where: You’ll be based at our offices at Clipper House, Trinity Buoy Wharf, London E14 0JY, a short walk from Canning Town tube or a hop across the river on our staff boat, from North Greenwich tube. We offer flexible start and end times and welcome flexible working conversations.
